About Me
My name is Rhonda, and I am the founder and instructor at Sugar Land ESL. For over 13 years, I have led and taught adult English as a second language programs in my community. In January 2020, I started Sugar Land ESL to help others advance their language skills while boosting speaking confidence.
You have many options when learning English, but experience matters. I am a degreed, certified teacher in Texas with years of classroom teaching experience. In addition, I hold a TEFL certificate in general and business English.
Along with my experience as an educator, I am a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. Over the years, this training enabled me to help my students focus on what they do well and build upon those talents. I energize my students towards their goals, such as finding a job, returning to school, and engaging in our diverse community.
My values as an educator and mentor are to:

It is my hope that all of the amazing people I’ve met through my work as an educator have felt that I value them, their goals, and their dreams, without judgment. I am so thankful for the friendships I have made over my years of teaching.
